The Effect: A gold key is held at the fingertips. The "teeth" are slowly moved around the shaft of the key, then just as mysteriously slid down the shaft. The "teeth" are moved all the way to the head of the key. The key is then handed out for examination and the "teeth" are clearly seen to be welded in the wrong place. This is a wonderful effect with very fine quality materials. First of all, the key is a normal key not decorated to look like a magician's prop. It is precision made with a perfecting round steel bar shaft. The teeth have been fashioned in brass and are silver-welded to the shaft. Also the key has been chrome plated and then plated again with 24 carat gold. This gives a polished brass effect, but the key will not tarnish. A fantastic visual effect.
