With the discounted price, it's a fair purchase. The one I received wasn't as nice as the photo depicts. The chrome plating is chipping off and scratched in a lot of places, and the handle was brown plastic, not metal like the product photo. The mechanics were terribly noisy in a nails-on-a-chalkboard way. I hammered and sanded the insert a bit, which helped. I'm thinking about trying to strip the chrome plating off to see if it will look nice as polished brass. If I can get it looking nice with the brass base metal, maybe I'll clear coat it for some tarnish protection. Overall, not a bad prop for the price, and it got great reactions at a recent kid's show. No one questioned the weird looking prop. In the right context, it looks like a normal candy or cookie jar. But if you're looking for high-quality construction, this might not be your best choice.
