This trick is an old idea from the Tarbell Course in Magic, adapted to a very small wooden box. The selected card is not suppose to jump from the deck; it is suppose to magically appear, popping out of the box, when the lid is opened (see the Tarbell Course). The instructions are very poorly written. What should be written is that when you pull the spring down, it's only the spring and not the tab. Knowing this, you should be able to figure out the very badly written instructions. The box is tight when new and you may have some minor trouble closing the lid to set the trick, but after a short break in period, the box lid will close well. The other thing to point out is that the empty box opened, will tip over, but apparently not so when a card has appeared. Due to the size of the box, the handling is a bit awkward, but effect of the trick is worth it.
