The Chair Suspension Illusion
A Breathtaking Display of Levitation
The magician invites a child from the audience to the stage, setting the scene with two chairs placed face to face and a long board resting across them. Covering the board with a large sheet, the magician prepares for an astonishing feat.
The child is asked to lie down on the covered board, as if settling in for a bedtime story. Ensuring they are comfortable, the magician gently wraps the sheet around them, creating a cozy, tucked-in appearance. Then, with a magical gesture, the magician carefully removes one of the chairs—yet the child remains mysteriously suspended in mid-air.
To heighten the illusion, the magician removes the board entirely, leaving the assistant seemingly floating with no visible means of support. A large loop is passed around their body, proving there are no hidden wires or supports.
After mesmerizing the audience with this impossible sight, the magician replaces the board and chair, gently unwrapping the assistant and helping them down to the stage, leaving everyone in awe of the magic they just witnessed.
What’s Included:
- Two chairs: one standard chair and one gimmicked chair
- One wooden plank (4 feet in length) with a gimmick attached to the underside
- One stretcher-style board with handles (used to conceal the gimmicked plank)
- One large sheet
A large hula hoop is recommended for enhancing the illusion but is not included.
