Some assembly required: When you get this bit of kit , remember that you have a small baggy with screw , spring and flint . I put this together when I got it. It was rather dodgy . I spent a lot of time debugging it . The unit came with poor quality flints and the unit would flop around on my thumb . I fixed the flopping around problem by using some putty I have and after quite a few test figured out that it needed a quality flint . I changed out the flint and adjusted it . Don’t make it too tight , and break in the new flint. Last . Put a bandaid in the end and it will stay in place . I use Walmart flints , magic lab putty from hobby lobby . -this stuff has the added benefit of glowing when exposed to uv light so it’s good for other things . But don’t worry , it won’t glow while inside this unit . It’s very sticky and will keep it on your thumb . You stuff some inside and press it into place . Simple . Now one other thing: when changing the flint you need a small flat blade screw driver to remove the spring , you need needle nose and a larger screwdriver to lock it all down. Finally, use a bandaid at the end . It will lock it down nicely .

Update : I have tried numerous tweaks and adjustments to no avail . This trick won’t work reliably .
