I called MadHatter and spoke with the owner about this and turns out there is a whole different working to this trick. He went out of his way to see about sending me the instructions for the workings. Had to change my review because first of all MadHatter has excellent customer service and secondly, I can still use the effect... just completely differently. for the price and who you are buying this from.. go for it. one of my bowls has a ding, but other than that I think i'll be happy with the effect.

Rice Bowls Lota Bowl Combo Set - Aluminum

bowls are nice, but you can't do the classic routine with them. I bought these in hopes of using them to illustrate Jesus feeding the multitudes (sunday school class I teach) There is no included instructions for whatever routine they had in mind when they put these together. You do NOT get the 'gimmik' for the classic rice bowl routine and I don't see how you could do any sort of similar trick without it. The 'never empty' part of it is obvious when looking in the bowl, they could have moved the 'important feature' along an inside edge or something. would have been a good improvement. Still, I purchased this for the original effect and I can't do it with them. sad.
